Man I loved working on this one. When you have a stellar music team it makes all the hard work feel fun…even easy. We started last June with the incomparable Jay Bellerose, who conjured the revolutionary percussive spirits of yore and turned them into something else all together. That day alone was the spark and inspiration for the entire score. We planned on a handful of overdubs – to give the impression of multiple players drumming together. But there was never a need with JB. Months later we found ourselves closing the score with a beautiful orchestral session at United Recorders with Catherine Joy and her team of orchestrators and musicians.
